Who: Emily Ratajkowski
Where: London, Englad
Emily Ratajkowski a.k.a. that model in the “Blurred Lines” music video who’s body we all wish we had along with her soaring confidence in herself. Since her controversial topless debut Ratajkowski can be seen in many advertisements and magazines. What I like about her is that she’s breaking the boundaries in the modelling industry. She is becoming such a successful and publicized model standing only 5’7 with a C cup. Not going to lie, I somewhat idolize the girl. Yes, her body is phenomenal, but I love that she has gone after what she wanted, whether or not her manager thought doing the video was a good idea - it’s what jump-started her career! Where would she be right now if she hadn’t done so? Would people be able to spot her in a crowd if she hadn’t? I think not. Feminists can say that the video is objectifying and portrays her as a “topless sex doll”, but is that really the first music video where the artists portray women as a means of amusement? To serve fantasies? No. This world has many more problems than that, such as Miley Cyrus’ possible tetanus poisoning and bodysuit purchasing.
